What a disaster! Yesterday in Class 12 Miss Jaremko brought in some beautiful tulips for us to look at in our Science lesson but over lunchtime a crime occurred. We arrived back after lunch to find that all the tulips had been destroyed and a crime scene had been set up. We couldn't believe our eyes. We spent some time looking at the flowers and trying to put them back together. We labelled the different parts of a flower and managed to fix the broken tulips.
At the end of the lesson we were visited by Sergeant Storey who told us the crime had been solved. A little boy with a kite had been seen escaping from the scene. It was Floyd from our story!!

The topic this term is called Medieval Madness! This week we were introduced to our exciting new Summer Term topic, we learned all about the different parts of a castle then took part in a carousel of activities. We designed a new royal character then wrote sentences to describe them. We decorated our very own crowns! We used the construction to build our own castles, using pictures to help with the different parts. Also, we completed a castles wordsearch where we had to find lots of words linked to castles, and finally we designed our own shield.
It was super exciting and we can't to learn more about our Medieval Madness topic! Yesterday we took part in our Golden Time treat for our outstanding behaviour this half term. The sneaky Easter Bunny had hidden 20 eggs in the Reception garden which we had to find. We worked as class to find the hidden eggs, some of them were extremely tricky to find because he had hidden them under leaves, up trees and even inside buckets! When we had found them all we became sneaky little bunnies too and hid the 20 eggs for Miss Peacock's class. It was great fun and a lovely reward for our fantastic behaviour. Well done Class 12!
We just love reading! This morning we had the chance to take part in some paired reading with Miss Peacock's class. We paired up with a Year 2 child and read our books to them. Then we swapped over the Year 2 children read to us. It was lovely hearing the older boys and girls read and we loved reading to them too!
Class 12 have had an amazing day!! We have all loved dressing up as our favourite superheroes to help raise money for Tiny Lives. The day kicked off with a visit from Baby Noah and the nurses from the RVI, they told us all about Tiny Lives and the work they do to support babies who are born too early. Then we had a surprise visit from a real life Superhero........SPIDERMAN!!! We completed lots of different superhero activities and even had chance to design our own Superhero!
In Science this term we have been learning all about animals. This week we started looking at a new group of animals, amphibians! We had a really exciting time, Mr Watkins brought in some newts and from frogspawn from his garden pond! We each got to hold a newt and learned lots of new facts about this group of animals.
This term we have been learning all about different types of animals. We have spent some time learning about the different characteristics of each group and have taken part in different activities. Yesterday we had some great discussions about the animals and talked about how we could put different animals into the categories, reptiles, mammals, birds or fish. We talked about what was similar and different about the groups. We had a great afternoon which really challenged our thinking!
This week we have been doing lots of number work! We started looking at comparing numbers using 'greater than' 'less than' and 'equal to'. To help us we watched a video about a number alligator who only eats the larger numbers.
Then we received a cry for help from Po, the Kung Fu Panda. He wanted to create a new menu for his noodle restaurant but could only use food that had the larger numbers next to them. We helped Po by comparing lots of numbers and using our alligators to help us! |
